What is an NFT?

An NFT, which stands for “non-fungible token”, is a tokenized piece of information that lives on a blockchain. Unlike fungible tokens (i.e. Bitcoin, where 1 BTC = 1 BTC), NFTs generally cannot be traded 1:1. This technology’s key aspect is that it represents a proof of ownership without the use of a third party.

What is Cardano?

Cardano is an open-source blockchain that seeks to provide economic identity to the billions who lack it by providing decentralized applications to manage identity, value and governance.

Why Cardano?

TACF chose to mint its NFT Series on Cardano for many reasons, the most prevalent being: 1) it is being built using first principle-based, scientific research in order to have formally proven security guarantees and 2) it has a much smaller carbon footprint than most other blockchains.

What efforts are being made to cancel out Cardano’s carbon footprint?

There are several efforts being made to cancel out Cardano’s already minimal carbon footprint. One of them is the Cardano Forest, which is being run by Veritree. Another project finding ways to support this vision is Climate Neutral Cardano. For more information, please visit their websites. (Please note that the Taki Alsop Conducting Fellowship is not affiliated with either of these organizations)

What is unique about these NFTs?

Most NFTs that are currently seen in the market act solely as collectible items. The TACF NFT Concert Ticket Series aims to be the first NFT with utility in the classical music industry, giving its holders access to select concerts and promotional content. This allows TACF to interact directly with its fans, as well as giving them the opportunity to support the organization in a variety of ways.

What is the benefit of buying NFT concert tickets over conventional concert tickets?

By owning a Taki Alsop Conducting Fellowship NFT Concert Ticket, you’ll get admission to its corresponding concert along with:

  • Ownership of the first Cardano NFT ticket for a real-life, Classical music global concert series
  • The opportunity to support TACF by selling it on a secondary market that supports royalties/is CIP0027 compliant
  • Special benefits from promotions and future partnerships
  • Joining TACF as it embarks on this innovative and exciting journey
