Why purple?
As a National Women’s History Month color, purple represents equity, loyalty, and justice. Today, only 10 percent of the world’s music directors are women or non-male identifying (learn more here). #PurpleBaton will inspire orchestras and classical music organizations to bring more women onto the podium.
I want a baton!
