Dougie Scarfe, Chief Executive, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra discussed recent initiatives and programs that address diversity and accessibility to classical music. These included Resound – a permanent addition to the BSO’s output, promoting diversity within the orchestral music sector and the wider society as a whole, continuing the mission to make music accessible for everyone; Change Makers–urges business leaders to think differently when it comes to improving access and prospects for the next generation of talent; and, BSO Participate. He shared the impetus for starting them, what worked and what didn’t, the impact, and future goals.
